After the recent mega-success scoop slam bonus round flavor-fest that was Ohayocon, the SuperiCore Group is HIGHLY encouraging any and all Listers to hit up anime conventions. Regardless if you know your chibis from your chans, the simple fact appears to be that people into anime are people into Morton's List (they just haven't heard of it yet).

Forget about contacting the con ahead of time and getting official events on the schedule (unless you're feeling overly ambitious). Just show up, grab some hallway space and start grabbing people to come play "a game." Don't worry about following the "rules." Leave 360 out of it for now. Just get people playing fast and send them off on Quest after Quest. Don't go with them - just guide them and get the next group going. Soon you'll have people returning ready to play again and again and again.... Warning: Stimulants may be required after many hours of constant Questing.

If you're an Authorized Morton's List Dealer (AMLD) you'll EASILY be able to pay for your convention badge and even parking, food, drinks and any other expenses by selling games to your "regular" players. With a little tactics you can easily pay for a hotel room if that's how you're balling and/or come out of it all with some pocket cash.

If you're not an AMLD yet, just keep your expenses low and the intense fun you'll have will EASILY compensate you for whatever it cost to get in.

TIP: MANY conventions only check to see if you have a badge if you enter a special room or attend an event. If you're just in the hallway running games, as long as you don't attract the wrong kind of attention you can likely go without buying a badge at all! Never buy a badge until/unless you have to if you have no way to generate profit to pay for it (unless you're just paid like that).

Now about Anime Central. This is IT. The BIGGEST, BADDEST KICK-ASSEST anime convention of them all. No joke. As such it may be a little more regulated, so apply the above advice with a grain of salt. But with a Trenchfoot in the door already, you should be set to enjoy a weekend you'll never forget.

If you're coming from out of town, talk to Trenchfoot about places to stay or visit CouchSurfing.com to find a really cool friend you haven't met yet to host you. If you don't have a CouchSurfing profile, making one is simple and fast. Contact MortonsList.com for helpful references once your profile is complete - these will help you find a host within CouchSurfing's trust-based social network.

To reiterate: anime conventions rock!

Dress up if you can - wear anything that stands out. It doesn't have to be anime related. Safety gear is highly encouraged if you have or can acquire any. Including:

- Safety vests
- Bright/neon green and/or orange clothing
- Anything reflective
- Anything yellow and black
- Caution/police tape (available for cheap at hardware stores)
- Rape whistles (use sparingly - perhaps to start a Quest)
- Condoms to pass out (get them free at various stores/clinics)

Use these to attract attention to yourself and your crew and identify yourself as professionals trained in the art of safely running real life activities. Of course this is half tongue in cheek, but it works!

Go to Anime Central. You will NOT be disappointed.

Karma Always

I will be around all weekend at ACEN, I will be walking around in a Morton's list beanie that is red with Yellow Flames, and if off futy I will be in some form off Psychopathic T-shirt, or walking around with a t-shirt ninja mask.

If chicago locals need another excuse to show up other than representing Karmic Living, the old Chicago Battletech Simulators will be up and running all weekend at the Con.

if anyone is showing and cannot find me, my number is 217 621 5195

So I would say that ACEN was pretty successful, while I did not see any of the board lister I did find people willing to give it a shot.

I was workjing most of the weekend but Listers cme to me to roll up quests then moved out into the con to accomplish them before reporting back.

Friday night

Quest 1: Murderous Battlegrounds- Being at a con they turned this into a game of hunters vs Prey. The Hunters started oin the top floor and attempted to use Camera's to snipe the hunted, while the hunted tried to work together to live, or stab the hunters.

The Circle decided to take the Anarchy Rules deviation a little far though and the hunted players scattered out of the legal play area, the game played for one hour with no fatalities on either side.

Quest 2: Scavengers of Fortune- The Cosplay Scavengr hunt, I gave the Circle a List of Cosplay types and sent them into the con at 1am, they were to find and bring them back for me to photograph to get credit for their finds. We still had Listers at it until 5:30 AM. The Tabletop gaming room rewarded the dedicated with Starter sets for Some Collectable card games.

Saturday

Quest one: Scavengers of Fortune... yup twice in a row. This one was interesting as I was table master and off duty so I could run with them.

The Hunt was on for Random Crap! Four locations were given with a 20-45 minute tinme limit to get to each. Along the way we approached people and asked them for stuff, anything that wasn't garbage, at the end of the Quest the workers in Tabletop gaming became the judges to decide who had the best stuff.
They divided the scoring into Survivability (could you survive at the Con on your stuff)
and Creative stuff (best stuff)

While I scored highest on Best Stuff, I was soundly thrashed on survivability by the Female Final Fantasy black Mage (and her female crossdressed as Mario assistant.) who accompanied us, and I tied in overall point with the Penguin that accompanied us.

Items of note collected.

Six Shot Revolver Lighter
Frisbee
Sword Necklace
$10 gift card to applebees
Best buy gift cards with random money amounts left
5 Hour Energys
retarded amounts of glowsticks(We hit up the line for the con rave)
Unopened Boxes of Pocky
Countless cigarettes
average player got over 5 dollars in change/cash
a handful of onion rings
carrot cake
It was late and my brain was fried so I may have forgotten stuff

Quest 2 Good Samaritans

Yes they ended up on Yang of the Sky. They Spend an Hour and a half walking around making people smile with free hugs and amusing quotations. They also let a girl who needed to get some stuff off her chest use their phone to air sonme stuff out with a signifigant other for a while. All in all the Hugs from the rather attractive inner circle surely brought joy and love to the Convention.

Quest 3: Rainbow Dragon: Theology

The inner circle made a circle on the floor near the video rooms and relaxed for a long conversation on Religion and why they feel the way they do about thier beliefs, it was fun, it was civil, and they seemed to be enjoying themselves until con security ruyined the mood by telliong people they could not lay down talking on the floor becuse it looked to much like sleeping, then made them sit up and move around like anti sleep nazis. Also told another lister she couldn't cuddle her boyfriend because it was "sleeping"

I personally think she was grumpy because she didn't have any Con loving for herself.

Sunday I was on duty later than aexpected and was unable to meet back up with the groups for a final quest. But It was a blast, and at least one of them has found their way here, I just hope they do not lurk and join in the Randomness of our Realities.
